Memoirs Of A Giesha Journal

The bracing Memoirs Of A Geisha by Arthur Golden begins in the small, poor fishing village of Yoroido, Japan.  The story is narrated by Sakamoto Chiyo, a young girl who is sold to an okiya (a brothel for geisha girl) when she is 9 long age old.  When Chiyo is taken to the okiya, she is separated from her sister Satsu who was deemed not charming affluent to serve geisha and is instead taken to the pleasure dominion where she is forced to work as a prostitute.  During her initial weeks in the okiya, Chiyo is distressed with the loss of her sister and desperate to locate her.  I can identify with Chiyos emotions at this tiptop, as I have a sister and would be beyond come up if I got separated from her without even knowing her where arounds.  It seems as though Chiyo is narrating the story as an great(p); as though she is flavor rump on the events taking place.  She also offers additional education about scenes from what seems to be an heav y(p)s point of view, as though she has gained enough knowledge to re-analyze situations: When I was seven my drive became rottenly ill with what was probably hit the books cancer, though at the time I had no idea what was wrong (Golden).  This excerpt shows that as a child, Chiyo did not know what was the matter with her mother, and as an adult reflecting upon that time, she knows that her mothers sickness was credibly to have been bone cancer.  So far, I like this mode of narration truly much, because it offers two points of view; how child Chiyo and adult Chiyo feel about a circumstance.              I find the geisha to be very intriguing, as Chiyo has not yet amply explained what they are.  I am looking forward to the inevitable point in the novel when Chiyo takes us along and exposes exactly what the liveliness of a geisha is like.               Jennet Baumbach Ms. Ribout ENG 3U Thursday November 25th 2010 Memoirs Of A Geisha journ al #2             After about a ! calendar calendar month of working as a maid, Chiyo is permitted to begin attending...If you want to alarm a full essay, order it on our website: BestEssayCheap.com
